Ranch Dressing

Ranch Dressing

I rarely ever by pre-made dressings at the grocery store because they are full of hidden carbs, but I do purchase the dry mixes and make a few modifications to make them Low in Carbs. My favorite is ranch dressing. This is my secret cheater recipe.

Simply by the Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix and substitute one cup of milk with half a cup of heavy cream and half a cup of water along with the one cup of mayonnaise. Mix everything together and it will be some of the best ranch dressing you will ever make. By doing this you will dramatically reduce the amount of carbs in the dressing. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 packet of Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1 cup Mayonnaise
  1. Mix all ingredients together in a mixing bowl until smooth. Enjoy!

Сan you make ranch with water instead of milk?

Traditional ranch dressing recipes call for buttermilk, which is a type of milk with a slightly acidic taste. However, you can substitute water for the milk in a ranch dressing recipe if you prefer a non-dairy or vegan version of the dressing. Here is a simple recipe for vegan ranch dressing that uses water instead of milk:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup vegan mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the vegan mayonnaise, water, and apple cider vinegar until smooth.
  2. Add the dried parsley, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to the bowl, and whisk to combine.
  3. Taste the dressing and adjust the seasoning as needed.
  4. Store the ranch dressing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Note that this vegan ranch dressing recipe uses vegan mayonnaise, which is a non-dairy alternative to traditional mayonnaise. If you don’t have vegan mayonnaise on hand, you can use a recipe for homemade vegan mayonnaise, or substitute it with another non-dairy alternative such as silken tofu or cashews.
